IS THIS THE ANSWER TO INTERNET SUCCESS? FOCUS!

Published by kats at 2:28 pm under Succeed in Life working from home Edit This

There art many people who desire to earn that extra income by writing on the internet.  There are a lot of programs that indicate that you can be successful doing the same.  What would happen if you just focused.  Focused on one thing to do.  They call this niche writing, or finding a niche. I wonder if by finding a specific topic to address, you would find your success sooner, rather than later.

My husband always said that I did a lot better with whatever I was doing as long as I focused on one thing at a time.  One of my old teachers said, you can do many things one thing at a time.  The internet can be an overwhelming place, so focus.  When I wanted to own my own business, I focused.  I thought about what skills I had, and compared them to what markets would work with my skill set.  It took a little time (about six months) before I could quit my day job and go full time in my own business.  But, the change came when I decided that I am going to focus on one thing, and make it work.  You also have to be willing to let go of your security blanket (eventually) so that you can move forward in your life.  I poured my energy into the goal of owning my own business.

If you are going to succeed on the internet or any where you need to decide to really do something, instead of just dreaming about it.   I believe that success starts with a dream, but then if you are going to accomplish anything, you need to go beyond the dream, and act toward the end product.  Not wanting to date myself, but the first time I really thought about owning my own business was in the mid 80’s.  It took me a little over 10 years to actually decide to do something about that dream.  But once the decision was made, it took only six months form decision to success.  I have been successful in that business for more than 10 years now.

So, if a person really wanted to work on the internet, I would say that YES it is important to focus on one thing that you want to do to succeed at.  It’s said that when you own your own business, you have to eat, drink and sleep your business for it to succeed.  You also have to treat it like a business (a job) for it to work.  There are many people that do not make this connection.  If you work for someone else, you get yourself out of bed, you go to work (if you are lucky) 5 days a week and you are compensated for the work you do.  A good/excellent worker makes themselves an asset to the company they are employed at.  Make yourself an invaluable asset to the market you want to work in.  Be consistent, efficient, and effective.

There is an area that you feel that you are an expert in.  Start your business with your strengths.  Focus.  What can you offer that is unique to your own experience?  That is what you can give.  Find that special something that you do, and do well.  Offer it up to other individuals that need your assistance in that area.  Focus.  It may not happen for you overnight, this instant success, but then again it might.  You never know until you do it.

In my mind for the last couple of days I have thought, ‘trying is an excuse to fail’.  Stop trying and do whatever it is that you are going to do.  If you are trying, what are you really saying?  You are saying, that you have not really made up your mind to do and succeed.  My pastor told me a while back that I am exactly where I want to be in my life.  I thought he was way off the mark.  Why, because my life wasn’t my dream come true.  But now, twenty years later, I understand what he meant.  He meant that I was where I was willing to be, and had decided either conscientiously or un-,  that this was the best I could do, so I stayed there.  When I got tired of where I was, I made up my mind and changed my situation.  I stopped trying and I did.  If you want your life to be better, you have to make up your mind to do.  Make up your mind to act.  Stop trying, whining and complaining.  Do something about it.  Even if it is wrong.  You have to start somewhere.  If you find a direction away from the place where you are not happy, you will eventually find the direction to where you really want to be.  But you have to move.  Standing still in your life is false security.  It is not progress.  It is stagnation.  Want different results in your life?  Do a different action and the results will change. Even a little change could make all the difference between success in life and misery.

We all have limitations.  Success comes when we understand what those limitations are, and we begin to work within them.  When we are ready to do this, there is room to grow, to expand, and overcome them.
